1st day of the Worlds!

We are just about to go up the hill for the first task. I've had 3 days rest since the XC Open & am now raring to go...more later!
A very hot & sunny day on launch - we all waited under the shade where possible getting more & more dehydrated until task briefing at 12:30. A short 49km triangle (based on enda murphys 50km FAI traingle record course) was set due to the probability of storms to the north, east & west. As we rigged the wind started to blow & the clouds got bigger & bigger. The window was open for about 3 minutes before being closed for safety reasons and the task was cancelled due to storms on course. As we drove down the hill the rain had already started over split-rock dam & towards the second turnpoint. Some were happy, some where not.... it was a good decision by the organisation who want an incident free event. The forcast for the next few days looks stormy but hopefully we'll get some short tasks in.
