Fab weekend in Àger

After the hot hot summer October brought the traditional storms for the first 2 weeks of the month. It rained, it hailed, it lightened & then it stormed some more. So after this thorough drenching we weren't expecting too much in the way of thermic flying in Àger, just mellow autumnal conditions.
Friday brought smooth climbs 2 - 4m/s with vast numbers of vultures & buzzards chasing lift from the small patches of sun in the valley. It was fantastic fun & just what I was hoping for.
Saturday was hot & sunny when we arrived at launch but with a thick inversion below hill height. I launched just as the inversion was breaking (unintentional!) & flew around the valley with climbs up to 5m/s & punchy thermals with sharp edges! It felt like summer again, one of those days when it was hard to get down. Lets hope autumn continues like this..... :-)
