Anyway, to cut a very long and tedious story about weather short we managed to fly 4 tasks over the 6 days :-) !
Some days started cloudy, others started windy but as the week progressed the sun battled through.
I just received my new glider 1 day before the competition, so had a test flight in the first task - the glider was great but also having a brand new unflown harness wasn't the best plan. I found a severe left turn that i just couldn't keep straight - much fiddling in the second and third tasks put me on the ground pretty quick when i couldn't actually fly in a straight line to reach a gaggle. I think its the pod that is causing the issue - I am just not used to sitting still and keeping equal pressure with my feet.
For the last task i swapped back to my Kanibal harness and everything went great. I was with the lead gaggle at the start scratching for the elusive and much needed climb and then flew the rest of the task pretty high and conservatively to make sure I reached goal - I was a happy parachica when I arrived!
Well done to the Axis UK team for 2nd place. Not a bad result for our first time out and helped immensely by Waggas & Kai's task wins. Well done Mark, Kai, Kelly & Adam.
The following day we had hoped to go tandem flying but the weather Gods decided that that was that, no more flying - the Brits actually scored 4-2 over the weather!
We took the opportunity of cold wet weather to head back to Barcelona before going up to Castejón for the World Cup.
