The old year finished with me having the pin removed from my toe :-)
I was quite insistent with the doc that 2009 was going to begin with me minus my robo-toe and fortunately after a couple of X-rays and a lot of prodding he agreed. The actual process involved a pair of reasonably sized pliers and quite of a lot of Catalan expletives from the doctor, as the pliers couldn't get enough grip and kept slipping off and quite a lot of holding my breath (so that I didn't add a few choice English phrases) each time he missed. The local anaesthetic fortunely worked ok this time but even so it was pretty brutal tug of war for such a minor piece of metal.
I have been told that I can't play football for one week but after that everything should be good to go. Perhaps I'd better start the New Year with a session of 'keepy-uppy' each morning, I've not been able to play football before but perhaps I have a new sporting career in the offing ;-)
The weather looks pretty unexciting this week, so I'm using the time to update my web gallery to include pics of some of the amazing places this crazy sport has taken me to. Its getting me fired up to get airborn again VERY soon.
