Honey thermals!

Nicky Moss in Àger
Nicky Moss in ÀgerThe Àger valley is full with blossoming Almond trees right now. Instead of the usual 'sniff & climb' tactic in thermals smelling of the many pigfarms it was a change to climb in thermals smelling of honey from the millions of bees working busily on the blossom. I picked up a few 'hitch-hiking' bees along the way, they were probably completely bewildered to find themselves suddenly at +1500m and going up at 3m/s so opted for an easy ride on my harness.
2 days of spring flying in sometimes feisty air but followed by late afternoon flights soaring the golden rock faces before a glide back to Camping in the twilight for 'bocadillos y vino'. Spring here can be a mixture of heaven and hell and all stages in-between but the scenery takes your mind away from all the tugging on string.
I love this place! :)
