Morning in Monterey! I was woken by the sound of the surf so started my day with a long walk on the beach - this is a BIG ocean! :)
We are going down to Big Sur later to meet the Condor Conservation people in the Ventana Wilderness and film wild Condors. I am so lucky to have this incredible opportunity to get close to completely wild birds...I'm excited!
Midnight: We just arrived at our hotel in Carmel. I'm tired after a long day, but what a day?! I sat in a flower filled meadow looking out at the beautiful BigSur coastline with the biggest birds I have ever seen flying just metres above my head. The noise of their wings as they take off and rush of air as they glide over has to be felt to be believed..I can see where the Thunderbird legends may have started!Francis' Condor sketch
