Caga Tió- the christmas log
Between the feast of the immaculate conception on December 8th and Christmas eve the children of Catalunya will have been feeding their caga tió a balanced diet (you don't want a constipated caga tió !!) and tucking him up each night under a warm blanket gradually lulling him into a false sense of security before beating him into submission with sticks while singing the caga tió song on 24th or 25th December!
The aim is to provoke him into "pooing" christmas goodies of chocolate and turrón but not to produce nasty salty sardines!

Caga Tió, caga torró
D'avellena o de pinyó
No caguis arengades
Que són massa salades
Caga torrons
Que són més bons
¡Si no vols cagar...
Et donaré un cop de bastó,
Caga Tió!

Translate it in 'Google translate' for the biggest laugh :D!!

It all sounds slightly bizarre as is the prominent caganer in the traditional Catalan nativity scenes but they are christmas highlights here!
ps. There is even a webshop devoted to production of the 'caganer' in the form of whatever famous/infamous figure you want in your nativity scene!
