Besalú bridge
Our New Years eve celebration started with a wander around the Besalú to find the rather bizarrely positioned chairs, then across the bridge and a return journey across the stepping stones. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately since it was pitch-black) we didn't manage to find the stones and had to cross back again in safety over the bridge. The water was so still that we could see 2 bridges in the reflection on the water. As we walked back it started to drizzle but without being wet. In the lights it fell like' dust' from a 'Northern Lights' novel.
Between us we concocted a lovely dinner with plenty of cava before celebrating the midnight bells with more cava and grapes on the top terrace of Judith's house.Somehow the presenter on Radio Nacional managed to mess up his counting of the 'bongs' so we were thrown into a bit of a panic in our grape guzzling!
