Heading home ... it was a sunny beautiful day so after a snowy start I decided to enjoy the drive instead of slogging down the motorway. From B & L's we crossed the lavender fields at Sault and drove through Carpentras, Avignon and then Tarascon and Beaucaire  past ancient bridges and castles before crossing the  Rhone on the stunning modern Beaucaire Bridge before hitting the fast road south at NĂ®mes.

With a stunning blue sky and wall-to-wall sunshine it was a lovely drive finishing on a high with a splash in the river Fluvia for Merlin while bats whizzed above my head and then dinner and wine at Judith and Geoff's house in Castellfollit.
