Tolkein-esque view from the window this morning

The Chabre Open starts today in Laragne; its not looking like the best flying conditions ... but its 100% better than the forecast so far! Its finally stopped raining and there is some sunshine. 
There is a short flop-over-the-back practice task with goal at Laragne Camping before the predicted strong gusts, strong rain and strong hail hits town.

The week to come ... not ideal comp weather :(

14:00 - BIG clouds all around! The day has developed and just 'over'-developed. First thunder and rain sploshes at 2pm at Col St.Jean. Hail at 2:15 and what a lightening show!!

13:30 - Overdeveloping over Chabre

Update: Task was cancelled at 13:30 because of storms everywhere!
The carnage list for today stands at 5 gliders in trees and 1 on a power line ... let the fun & games with chainsaws begin! ;-)
