!! Viva Mexico !!
After a night of torrential rain in Pereira and a 4am start I was hoping to catch up with some zzzzzzzz's on the flight from Bogota. But the scenery was amazing and kept me glued to the window as the plane followed the archipeligo north from the Carribean coast of Colombia, over Panama, Guatamala and up to Mexico following the 'volcano route' northwards. I wasn't expecting to see an active volcano south of mexico city ... lots of new suprises :)
Turquoise carribean seas from 37000 feet
Smoking Vulcano south from Mexico city ..
After a long wait in the airport and a seemingly even longer wait as we collected the rental car, navigating out of Mexico City with German route instructions - 'thankfully' Judith as the back-seat navigator who understood them - and my Garmin proved surprisingly easy but even so we arrived in Valle at 2am ... the door-keeper of the hotel wasn't entirely happy to see us so late!
Dream-time - the hotel was lovely surprise :)
I could get used to this life! :)
 ... the terraza
It was a lovely first day, with a lie-in, fruit for breakfast, a visit to the Monarca butterflies, a long idyllic lakeside lunch and then flying ... its a good life :)
Butterfly snow!
Not a great picture but an incredible sight ...
Monarca flutterby
just imagine millions of these flying all around you :)

I seem to have something caught in my lines! ;-)

Valle was filling with pilots and buzzing till the early hours but jetlag and a nice flying forecast sent us early back home ...
