The bus journey from La Pintada to Medellin crosses some spectacular mountains ... if you were transported there and dropped on the top of a mountain it would be impossible to say if you were in the Alps or anywhere else green and hilly for that matter. Pine trees, high grassy meadows, deep valleys, fluffy clouds and thermalling birds, it was like a textbook image from any European Alpine country!

After a long descent from this green and lovely land we arrived in the heat and smog of Medellin!
BIG city ... noisy, smelly and much too busy after 2 months of small town living :-/
I am sure its very nice for city people but after 6 hours here (most of them spent eating & drinking!) I need to run away to somewhere green, quiet and flyable!

The journey out was through similar mountains, with similar green meadows , a few more big landslides and finally to the hotter and flatter hills of Santa Fe de Antioquia and flying at Sopetrán :)
