Day 4: task 4
Its been a windy couple of days and stressful flying for pilots and organisation alike.
The day was extremely marginal from the forecast but it seems most of the met info we have whilst seeming very impressive isn't as accuate as it might be to take into account the local influences.

A zig zag task was set to keep pilots away from the ridge in the strengthening wind and keep them crosswind not into wind ... but the weather goddess isn't playing nice and the fact of the day was that the first crossing was directly into wind and put the majority on the ground.
The couple of early calls of level 2 due to wind became level 1 as the groups established above the ridge and in the flats and the level 2 / Level 1 "tennis match" continued during the race.
Wind on the ground on the course line was lighter than the previous day and the task ran to its finish but no-one made goal and only 4 flew over 25km so with these parameters the scores will be desperately low again.
So, for me an unpleasant 2 days and after overnight rain its a bad forecast for today. But maybe there will be time for another really long sleep to try to get rid of a cold ...
