Àger : San Joan

After leaving Castejón I went to Àger to stay at Camping at the invitation of Josep Mª. San Joan (June 23rd/24th) is a huge fiesta in Cataluña, I'm not sure a wooden cabin was the safest place to be with kids as young as 3-4 years old running around throwing fireworks till 04:30, but when has safety been an issue when so much fun is being had!
A couple of evening flights with no radio, no phone and no contact, were just what I needed to clear the accumulated stresses away. Beautiful sunset flying in smooth strong lift, convergence lines crossing the entire valley and the evening light illuminating the rocks of the gorges to a startling red. Ogi-San and his group of Japanese pilots entertained us with their desperate need to fly, no matter how windy it was. Kris and Aude, the Airborne Planet Expedition guys www.airborneplanet.net, showed up for a couple of days so we went soaring above the hot rocks together with Aude taking photos of us playing with our shadows.
I arrived home with a greater sense of wellbeing and after 1 month traveling/camping an urgent need to do some laundry, which pretty much took up the next 3 days!
