Hot 'n sunny & soooo much flying fun..... :-)

Its been sooooo hot 'n sunny 'n flyable that its hard to know what to talk about!
I'm not usually at home in July due to competitions but since the Euro's were in first 2 weeks of July it kinda cleared the calendar and allowed some R&R before the madness and mayhem starts again this weekend.
Last Thursday was supposed to be a great day for distance from Àger according to the forecasts. I guess it might have been if it hadn't been too windy to launch from Raudoral, never mind even contemplating Col D'Ares. I guess it may just have been venturi under the inversion but it gave us a good excuse to make a trip to Organyà where we could hide from the meteo wind. Organyà doesn't disappoint in living up to its name of 'Muntaña Magica'. Take off from the bottom of the hill and point forwards while being swept up in the 'ascensor'. Landing is often the only part of the flight that requires patience and determination which is why the SAT and acro teams come here to train. Seiko (or as one of the guys asked, shouldn't she be called PSYCHO?) both stunned and alarmed us with her routines as she trained for Paranoia Acrobatixx starting next week in Zell am See - she really is one cool chic!
The Spanish Championships and Pre-World Cup start at the weekend in Arcones, 150km to the East of Piedrahita. We are off to Piedrahita for a couple of warm-up days first and then let the battle begin! Its a massive comp this year with the full 150 pilots including a bunch of 'sky-god' type dudes from France and Italy. That should keep the local boys on their toes... more when it happens later in the week...
