Task 5 - 120km to Zaragosa

The most optimistic task of the week was set today via Tulua, El Molino and gol in Zaragosa. Many pilots made personal best flights and with 42 in gol there were lots of tired but happy faces everywhere. Sebas made goal for his best distance and actually managed to get all the turnpoints so things are looking up!
It took some while to find a good goal field at the edge of the goal cylinder amongst the many many fields of sugar cane and mais but finally we settled on a huge harvested paddock just as the winners were approaching. The last 40km the guys were flying nearly as fast as we could drive! We were unfurling the line and cutting bamboo to make windsock poles just as the lead pilots appeared over the field.
Alex Popow won the day on his Mercury with fellow Venezuelan, Carlos Cordido in 2nd position :-)
A number of the top pilots were on the ground very early trying to make the valley crossing in a blue hole and a few missed out on goal by crossing the cylinder after task deadline.
Lili made goal again to take a new Colombian female distance record, thats twice in 1 week :-) Go Lili!
After some 'boring stuff' about scoring parameters and a few pilots trying to bully me into changing the results I'm probably not the most popular person in Roldanillo just now, but rules is rules and contra to what some believe they are not going to be broken this week if I can help it. No doubt they'll be grumbling tommorrow - cute Mickey Mouse has turned into the Wicked Witch of the West ;-)
