To be honest its forming a pattern that doesn't look like its going to change until after we leave :-(
Various bets were laid over lunch as to when we would see the first glider airborn but when we saw the 'young crazy's' in the town it seemed that even they had been deterred. By 2pm the sky looked beautiful with a big cumi over the hill but so far there is no sign of anyone having flown even though the will to fly is huge as many many pilots have brand new unflown wings.
We haven't exactly had inviting conditions to test fly the new beasties so launch has been a groundhandling arena in those seconds prior to 'lift-off'. After a winter season the skills of many Euro pilots are somewhat rusty and combined with more technically demanding gliders the antics on launch have been unsurprisingly random to say the least. Many of us need to learn new techniques but unfortunately these aren't the easiest conditions to begin in and there doesn't seem to be anywhere flat near town where we can play...so more excitement is on the cards for tomorrow if we actually get gliders out of the bag !
Now back to another afternoon of shopping / eating / caipirinha drinking!

You need to come to the UK to get some good flying weather! Have a look at the UK league for 8th April! Some excellent flights from the Mynd, with the best, I think, being Andy Wallis at 134km. And looking good for the next few days.
