Practice day ends...

By 8am it was like somone had turned on a high voltage light outside; still foggy but with a brightness we haven't seen for days.
The safety meeting happened and then we went flying :)
As I am working during this competition I can't 'just' enjoy myself but after all pilots were launched in the practice task we got the opportunity for a flutter. Just what I wanted, a nice float around the valley on my new Mercury III :)
There was just 1 incident today when one of the Spanish pilots flew his Rogallo reserve to the valley after an incident in turbulence. Both pilot and glider are ok but the live tracking caused some anxiety for his family when he disappeared offline and then popped up as a reserve throw...another thing for us to to work out tomorrow....
The opening ceremony is now over so we are officially a Championship event. A nice dinner with the 'powers that be' in Austrian Aviation and now I am ready to sleep ready for an 8:30 team leaders meeting and another day of who knows what!!
