Driving into Slovenia through the Triglav mountains was a game of dodgems with middle aged German guys on big touring motorbikes on the wrong side of every bend. The winding mountain road with 50 switchback bends is infested with them! After a dozen near misses I was starting to think I might arrive in Kobarid with a BMW mascot on the front of the truck!
The first task of the Brits was running as I arrived in the Tolmin valley with the lead gaggle back in the big-stuff and various groups scattered all round the place. Half-way between Kobarid and Tolmin I spotted a little red/grey VegaII flying low and I arrived in Tolmin landing field just as Judith landed. Great to meet up with my best playmate again like this :-) - it seems like ages since she left Spain.
Some beers and hello's later, a very good meal ( its so cheap after Austria!) at a local restaurant and I'm now camping on the sofa in the 'ex-Axis' team house.
There is still lots of stuff and fall-out to be dealt with from Abtenau by the powers-that-be but I'm glad to be out of there. I need a few days of fun with my friends before deciding where I am heading next.....
