Spanish Championships: Day 2

Much less wind today but the remnants of yesterdays strong northerleys lingered above 2000m.
After a delayed morning briefing waiting to see if the wind direction would settle into something useable a race was set in the valley with goal at Vilanova de Meia. A 'quick' 42km (Torre de Moro, CampT, Coll D'Ares. Agulló, Vilanova) but technical due to the strong westerley wind in the valley making the crossing from launch to Agullo difficult to say the least.
A lot of deliberation went on between pilots and the safety committee about the wisdom of sending us to Vilanova with strong wind, no landings, potential rotor and leeside in goal....finally we hurried up to wait for a couple of hours to see if conditions improved.
At 15:15 the task was cancelled. Quite a few pilots flew down 'enjoying' rough, broken, windy conditions - others took the buses back to Camping. One decided to air his washing but landed without injury.
Tonight its football followed by food so I guess its going to be another late night..
There is a really good forcast for the rest of the week so we are looking forward to the competition beginning again tomorrow :-)
