Galina Maslenikova, the mother of Russian pilot Dmitry who died during World Cup in Castejon De Sos 2 years ago was here this week. After visiting the site again and following Dmitry's GPS track-log she is able to finally understand his decisions on 19th June 2008. The weather has been wet and stormy so nothing like those hot days in 2008, making it a serious trek to reach his memorial. Perhaps the inaccesibility due to the rain and snow was Dmitry's way of communicating that its time for him to be alone in his beautiful place with the lakes, mountains and the eagles. Galina believes this.
Its always an emotional week for me but time is a friend and today we were able to laugh a little and make some small plans for me to visit Russia next year and spend some time with my adopted 'paragliding mum' in Moscow.
Soar with the eagles for eternity, Dmitry.
