Its been a successful Superfinal with popular world champions, Yann Martail and Petra Slivova.
More significantly there have been no accidents or incidents or reserve deployments - even though conditions were at times near the limit in some places. There have been a few bumps and grazes at launch but nothing too serious, so as safety director I am happy and very relieved :)
I have been running on adrenaline for the last 2 weeks but after the final pilot landed safe yesterday it was as if I 'crashed'. All the stress and tension that has kept me running around evaporated and my body has said enough is enough. Everything aches and all I want to do is sleep for a week!
I even missed the party last night here at the hotel....even though it was happening directly outside my door I couldn't find the energy to crawl out from under the quilt to join in - whats happening to me??!!
Today, I am going to relax in the sunshine and visit Hierapolis and the thermal springs before heading back to France / Spain tomorrow.
Update: There wasn't much relaxing on sunday...lots of shivering under all the bed covers and sleeping but thats about all.
Latest update from France:
I've survived so far! In spite of being very sick ( and vomiting on 2 planes and in 1 airport baggage hall - yuk!!) I've managed to get back as far as Laragne for lots more sleep....at least Merlin is happy! It will be a few more days before I'm able to cope with the 6 hour drive back home to Spain :(
