Spanish Championships: Day 5, Task 3

Conditions on launch were really gusty and saw lots of mini-dramas as pilots were lifted, dragged and dumped.
A 108km task is running with start in the valley followed by a race to Berga. The options are looking possibly more limited than usual in the final section as big development is forecast in the mountains late this afternoon, so it will be a trickier task to follow the lower hills behind Solsona instead of the northern line behind Oliana to Rasos.

For me its time for a therapeutic splash around in the pool ( its good for my knee - I'm not really enjoying myself ;-) before I try for a relaxed fly this evening.....

I just enjoyed a lovely 2 hours floating around the valley at 2500m and landing as the sun set on the longest day of the year.
An unbelievably smooth evening with silky air and nothing going down. I reached turnpoints this evening at 20:30 that I have never made before in midday conditions and flew a 25km FAI triangle with about 6 turns! I am a happy girl tonight :-)
But everything good always has peril attached and flying over Àger town I was slightly alarmed to see fireworks shooting up past my wingtip - but then it is fiesta here and fire and noise are the national pastime...i just prefer them a little further away from me when I am hanging under a piece of plastic in mid-air ;-)
